Spring has sprung and that means one thing… Melbournes ‘s racing carnival is here.
The key female star of the week was Michelle Payne.
The first and ONLY female winner of the Melbourne cup, recipient of an order of Australia award, subject of the movie “Ride like a Girl”, sports icon and also heading the channel ten panel of experts. She was definetly the one to watch.

Typical Melbourne gave us a mix of weather for each day including rain, hail and hot humidity so the hair needed to be bullet proof and look perfect on giant tv screens and close up. Michelle really only has about 30 mins to get ready in the morning so we needed products we can rely on that work quickly.

White sands was the product that could handle it all. Michelle also became a really big fan of the lightweight feel of the products especially the hair sprays. She even featured them on her Instagram page.

First off was derby day with a black and white dress code and Michelle in a sparkly white dress. A wavy ponytail was the perfect look and did not move an inch. I used Orchid Oil to add shine and a slick finish.

Melbourne cup is all about colour and a tomato red/orange custom Jason Grech dress with a slick high straight ponytail was needed to connect with the sharp lines of the outfit. Liquid texture medium hold was perfect to keep the hair straight at the back yet allow for movement. Gel-us was used to keep the hair slick and almost wet looking at the front of the head .

Oaks day, the ultimate floral and lady like occasion called for a bouncy blow dry and big waves teamed with a beautiful pastel painted dress and glass sparkly heels..a total Cinderella moment! This look went viral as she never wears her hair out. Once again liquid texture light was ideal as it allowed for the hair to still move.

Stakes day is when race goers let loose, rule books get thrown out as it’s typically family day. Michelle opted for an electric blue custom Jason Grech dress and a twisted and intricate bun. A lot of pins and a lot of white sands.
Infinity firm hold was my product of choice to keep the hair in place and last all night.

Daily mail naming Michelle one of the best dressed she nailed every look.

White sands was the perfect pairing as Michelle was filmed from about 9.00-5.00pm and the she partied the night away with friend and was still in countless pics looking great!

We can’t wait to see what looks Michelle rocks next with White Sands.
